I’ve been thinking lately that the second-gen Lincoln Town Car (specifically the 95-97 facelift models) without a landau roof in the right color with the right wheels (neither seen here) would look real good. Kept clean, these exude the right amount of class to me.
I was looking for a period tv commercial to whet your whistles, and while the radical music and camera angles might do the trick, the price, which is an astounding $778 per month in today’s dollars, surely does not. It’s almost like people had more money back then...

Nice. I’ve always liked the look of the facelifted TC

Damn yo, that lease payment, even not taking inflation into account, is higher than my 2013 BMW 135is.

A clean one in black and 100% OEM is not bad

I took my parents’ 1998 TC into town not long ago. It had that classic smooth ride that I’ve always associated with this kind of car. Kinda floaty, though. And that body roll...

It depends on where you live, honestly. A clean one in an urban environment is a cool anachronism, in the middle of nowhere it probably is on its way to the bingo hall.

I have to agree with that, in a large megalopolis a clean one would look very cool.

I for one am a huge fan of the 95-97 Town Car, it looks very good to me. If I could find one for the right price, all stock, less than 100k, in black, no padded or landau roof, I would take it in an instant.

Tuck a centrifugal supercharger under the hood and leave it otherwise stock, and it would be hilarious fun. The soft and tippy ride would be great with mind-blowing torque.

They haven’t been around quite long enough to tingle my “classic car” nerve. But, I could get into that if it were really clean so it didn’t look like it was driven by an old person who didn’t save enough for retirement to get anything newer.

I’d go with either these wheels:
Or those dished ones that the later cars came with:

I remember when I was a little kid, my grandpa had a white one with a blue interior. It was later traded in on an off lease 2000 gold town car. He got rid of the 2000 in 2010 when he won a Prius in a raffle.
